What role does culture play in doing business in Africa?
Ojvind KrabbeFounder AfricaPace
Culture can play a large role and many purchasing decisions in daily life is based on a cultural or habit based behaviour. This of course has to be respected and most of all understood. But, parts of the African culture is also changing or developing strongly affected by the process of urbanisation where more and more people move to the cities. When this results in increasing purchasing power because of better jobs, the consumption pattern also changes and at times towards more Westernised products such as fast food, smartphones and accessories.
