Which natural ingredients in Africa could be used in the European Health Industry?

There are opportunities for African companies to export natural ingredients to Europe. Especially if they manage to feed into the increasing trend of using natural ingredients as alternative to antibiotics. Essential oils such as teatree, melissa, clove, rosemary and oregano are examples of products with good potential.

Forecasts indicate shortages of raw plant materials (especially wild collected) for natural ingredients in Europe in the years to come. This puts African companies in a better price bargaining position. However, demands for transparency in the supply chain, consistency in production quality, legislative requirements are still high in Europe.

You can read more about opportunities in Europe for African suppliers of natural ingredients in a trend study conducted by the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries. http://bit.ly/1VHgFaW
