What is the biggest concern regarding Ethiopia for non-Ethiopian companies?
Frederik Pétursson MadsenCo-founder AfricaPace
From my contact with Danish companies I have the following impression:

The image of Ethiopia within companies and investors is significantly improving these years following the impressive growth rates in displayed since the 00s.

Recent data from IMF shows that the Ethiopian economy has expanded and average of 11 percent over the past seven years. However, people are aware that Ethiopia remain one of the poorest countries of Africa which means that there is a lack os the basics, such as well working public institutions and a strong, stable political system.

For forward thinking companies Ethiopia is a typical pre-transition economy with interesting opportunities despite a lack of basics, while conservative investors might find even Kenya too adventurous.
