Justina Dugbazah is a gender and development specialist. She currently works with the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency in South Africa. She is also affiliated with the University of Pretoria as an Associate in the Institute of Women’s and Gender Studies. She has vast experience working in positions that bridge development policy and practice. Prior to her employment with the NEPAD Agency, Dugbazah worked as a Research Fellow and also taught gender and development and ethnography at the University of Birmingham, UK, where she also obtained a PhD in gender and development. She had also worked as a Policy Analyst for many years in Ottawa, Canada. Her special interests are in gender mainstreaming, rural livelihoods, women’s empowerment, poverty reduction strategies, micro-credit, migration, human rights and other subsectors under gender and development.
